  • October 17, 2011

LoJack takes out a carjacker! On Sept. 21, there was a carjacking in the 1400 block of S. 43rd St in the city of San Diego. Four men with a shotgun had forced the owner from his 1997 Toyota Camry and fled southbound on 43rd St. Within a few minutes, allied agencies reported picking up the silent signal from the stolen 1997 Toyota Camry. One of the signals received was near Hwy 54 and I#5.

As a result of the radio traffic a National City Police K-9 Officer had monitored, he proceeded in a southerly direction from his area.

Within a few minutes he observed the stolen vehicle and called for backup assistance. After having cover units in place he initiated a felony stop in the 200 block of E St. in the city of Chula Vista.

As a result of the stop, four suspects were taken into custody and booked for carjacking, auto theft and related crimes.
