LoJack® continues to be No. 1 in theft recovery, with a recovery rate greater than 90% on cars and trucks. Since 1986, LoJack has recovered more than 300,000 stolen vehicles and construction equipment—worth nearly $4 billion.

LoJack has had some incredible recovery stories over the course of its 25+ years. Below are the pick-up truck recoveries that stand out most.

LoJack Leads Police to Murder Victim’s Killer
A LoJack-equipped stolen pickup led police to the identity and arrest of an alleged murderer, who had killed the vehicle’s owner  and  driven  away with the  victim’s  vehicle.  Gaston,  NC, police  picked  up the  vehicle’s  signal  only 16  minutes   after activation about 100 miles from the crime scene.  They later  arrested the suspect on charge of first-degree murder and other crimes.

LoJack Helps Police Capture Cold-Blooded Killer
Baltimore police tracked and located  a Toyota that had been stolen in Massachusetts in connection  with a murder. They recovered the vehicle and arrested the suspect.

LoJack Recovers Monster Truck
When a 2000  Ford F-250 4X4 monster  truck was reported  stolen by its owner, Riverside Police Department tracked the vehicle’s LoJack signal and stopped a suspect  after a short pursuit. The driver attempted  to run down the deputies  by backing toward them as they approached on foot. The officers were able to arrest the suspect,  who was a parolee wanted on multiple charges, including assault  with a deadly weapon on a police officer. The truck, valued at $70,000, was returned to its owner.

Theft Ring Busted with the Help of LoJack and LoJack Supply Chain Integrity Technology
Three months after  the Anaheim Police Department auto theft task force investigated numerous thefts of Toyota Tacomas—even successfully  recovering some of the vehicles—one of the LoJack-equipped cars that had been recovered was stolen  again. When the officers found the 2001  Toyota Tacoma this time,  they covertly placed the LoJack SCI InTransit™ tracking and monitoring device on the truck. This led to LoJack’s largest truck theft ring bust in Southern California, compromising more than 50 trucks.  The five criminals  who were operating the chop shop were consequently arrested.
