LoJack Global Recovery Network Has Hand in the Bust of an International Theft Ring

  • August 14, 2012

The LoJack Global Recovery Network had a hand in the bust of an international theft ring. The Italian State Police identified a LoJack Stolen Vehicle Recovery System signal emitting from a shipping container while the ship was at a port in Naples, Italy.

The police used LoJack’s handheld tracking computers to locate the exact container that stored two LoJack-equipped Ferraris, which were stolen out of Spain. The ship had another container that was storing two additional stolen vehicles: a Mercedes 6300 SLS AMG and a Porsche Panamera. All four vehicles – worth in excess of €1.000.000 – were recovered.

The Ferrari’s LoJack units were originally installed in Spain by Detector, LoJack’s Spanish licensee.

LoJack Italia presented the Italian State Police with the “2011 IAATI LoJack Award” for their role in this recovery – https://eb-iaati.org/awards/entry/2011_iaati_lojack_award
