The LoJack® System Helps St. Mary’s County, Maryland Sheriff’s Department Recover Stolen Acura TL

  • March 12, 2014

The Bowie, MD residents in this case discovered their Acura TL missing on a recent Sunday morning. The LoJack® system that was installed when the car was purchased helped local law enforcement recover it, quickly and safely, later that same day.

On March 9th, 2014, the Acura’s owner contacted the Bowie Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This procedure automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the TL, which was installed at Tischer Acura in Laurel, MD.

A short while later, deputies from the Saint Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department picked up the homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The deputies located the Acura near the intersection of Saltmarsh Drive and Jettison Drive, where it was found parked and unoccupied. The undamaged TL was retrieved by police and soon returned to its thankful owners.
