The LoJack® System Helps King County, Washington Sheriff’s Office Recover Lexus IS 250 Stolen from Dealership

  • April 23, 2014

A used car dealership in Everett, WA, discovered a Lexus IS 250 missing from its lot on a recent Monday. Because this particular vehicle was protected with the LoJack® system, local law enforcement recovered the stolen car later that same day.

When the theft was revealed on April 7th, 2014, it was reported to the Everett Police Department. Officers entered the vehicle identification number into the state and federal crime computers. That process automatically activated the LoJack device concealed in the IS 250.

Just a few minutes later, a King County Sheriff’s deputy received the silent homing signal transmitting from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computer installed in his patrol car. The Lexus was located in a motel lot, parked and abandoned. The IS 250 was soon returned to the grateful dealership.
