  • May 19, 2014

In this case, an Acura TL owned by a resident of Washington State was stolen by an acquaintance of the victim’s, who not only refused to return the vehicle, but also bragged about the theft on Facebook. Thanks to local police, assisted by the LoJack® system that was installed when the TL was purchased, local police recovered the car later that same day and took three suspects into custody.

On May 12th, 2014, the crime was reported to the King County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers. This action automatically activated the LoJack unit concealed in the TL, which was installed at Acura of Glendale, CA.

A short time later, Renton PD officers received the silent homing signals from the stolen car on the LoJack tracking computers installed in their patrol vehicles. The Acura was found traveling on Stevens Avenue SW. A traffic stop was performed, and three occupants were detained for questioning. The TL was retrieved and soon returned to its thankful owner.
