LoJack® System Helps the Dallas Police Department Recover a Stolen MultiQuip Roller

  • July 24, 2014

On July 16, 2014, the owners of a 2012 MultiQuip roller contacted the Arlington Police Department to report that their roller was stolen from a job site during the night.

The Arlington Police Department verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the MultiQuip roller

Forty nine minutes later, Auto Theft detectives from Dallas P D picked up the silent LoJack® homing signals from the stolen roller with the LoJack® Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their vehicles.  Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the detectives tracked the vehicle to a storage lot and found the stolen roller hidden underneath a tarp behind several vehicles.  The owner of the storage lot was at the location and stated that he had rented out that part of his lot.  He gave the detectives information about the renter.  Detectives were also reviewing video to see who brought this stolen roller into the storage lot.
