LoJack® System Helps Denver Police Department Recover Dodge Durango Stolen by Carjacking

  • December 19, 2014

The owners of a 2005 Dodge Durango were assaulted while driving their vehicle in Northwest Denver and had their vehicle taken in an armed carjacking.

The owners reported the robbery to the Denver Police Department.  Officers verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Dodge.

Minutes later, officers with the Denver Police Department picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Durango with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in patrol vehicles and aircraft.

Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the vehicle to a back yard in near 41st and Quivas Streets.  They found the vehicle concealed from view from the street.  The vehicle was towed for crime scene evidence collection.  The investigation was turned over to detectives.

The LoJack® System was installed in the Dodge Durango in March 2005.
