LoJack® System Helps Los Angeles Police Department Recover Stolen Ford Edge

The owners of a 2013 Ford Edge contacted the Los Angeles Police Department to report that their vehicle was stolen. The owner was shopping when she noticed that someone had taken her car keys from her purse.
The LAPD verified the theft and entered the vehicle information into the state and federal crime computers which automatically activated the LoJack® System concealed in the Ford.
A short later, patrol officers from the LAPD Pacific Division picked up the silent LoJack signal from the stolen Ford with the LoJack Police Tracking Computers (PTC) that are installed in their patrol vehicles. Following the directional and audible cues from the PTC, the officers tracked the Ford to the area of Centinela Ave and Jefferson Blvd. The officers conducted a traffic stop and took two suspects into custody for auto theft related charges without incident.
The Ford was impounded for safe keeping.
The LoJack® System was installed in the Ford Edge in December 2013 by Galpin Ford in North Hills, CA.
